Ladies Aid 3 of Immanuel Lutheran Church met March 17 in the fellowship hall of the Seymour church.

President Jane Pardieck introduced guest speaker Paul Scheiderer, director of Christian music at Immanuel Lutheran Church and Immanuel Lutheran School. He led the group in singing the hymn “Glory Be to Jesus,” verses 1 and 2. Then the group read Psalm 23.

He spoke of church music planned for Psalm Sunday and Easter Sunday and the work he does with children in the worship services. He also mentioned that there will be an American theme for the school’s spring concert that ties in with the 200th anniversary of the state of Indiana. In May, the schoolchildren will be putting on a play about Indiana written by Charles Moman.

Nineteen members answered roll call, and minutes were read and corrected. Treasurer Linda Kamman gave the new balance.

Reports of visitations from December, January and February were given by Pardieck, Donna Otte, Ruth Ann Schneider and Donna Runge. Brenda Snyder and Sharon Scott had visitations for March.

Committees for 2016 were filled. Also, Pardieck asked the group for ideas for the 200th anniversary celebration, which will be next year.

The group will host the luncheon for the District Senior Adult Ministry on April 22. Members signed up for food donations. Sharon Klakamp, Marlis Kilgas and Schneider will chair.

Because the group is hosting that luncheon in April, the staff luncheon will be conducted in May. A regular meeting is set for 7 p.m. April 21 with Pat Weasner and Snyder as hostesses.

The meeting was closed with singing the sixth verse of the opening hymn, and the group recited “The Lord’s Prayer.”

Hostesses Pardieck and Norma Kilgas served cake and ice cream.
