Columbus Symphony Orchestra concert set for Sunday

The Columbus Symphony Orchestra plans to perform “Death and Transfiguration” and other works during a concert at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the Judson Erne Auditorium, 1400 25th St., Columbus.

“Death and Transfiguration” is Richard Strauss’ classic tone poem about a dying man awaiting his heavenly transfiguration. Other works to be performed include Joseph Haydn’s Symphony No. 45 in F-sharp minor, “Farewell;” “Spring Song Op. 16” by Jean Sibelius; and “To a Wild Rose” by Edward McDowell.

The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for senior citizens and children 12 and older. Admission is free for children younger than 12 accompanied by an adult. Tickets may be purchased at the door or online at
