The Walmart Foundation is accepting grant applications to its State Giving Program.
Indiana nonprofits may apply for grants between $25,000 and $200,000 to support programs that focus on hunger relief, healthy eating, career opportunity and disaster preparedness. The deadline to submit grants is 11:59 p.m. April 15.
The foundation awards grants to Hoosier organizations that address areas of need among underserved populations. Indiana-based charities, including the Urban Leagues of Indianapolis and Fort Wayne and Feeding America food banks in Indianapolis and Terre Haute, received more than $800,000 in grants in 2015.
Launched in 2008, Walmart employee-led state advisory councils work with the foundation to identify needs within their state, review grant requests and make funding recommendations.
Grant submissions are accepted online at corporate.walmart.com/_foundation_/apply-for-grants/state-giving-program.
Once the current application window closes, Hoosier nonprofits have one additional opportunity to apply. The final grant application window in Indiana is Aug. 29 through Sept. 2.
