Seymour Police Department participated in Operation Pullover Blitz 85, which targeted aggressive driving.

The 10 officers who worked the blitz made 227 traffic stops and issued 96 citations, including 79 for seat belt violations and 162 warning tickets, according to Capt. Carl Lamb’s report.

The 65 hours of overtime were paid by a federal grant from the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute.

The officers, who received overtime for working the blitz, also made seven criminal arrests, including one for operating while intoxicated and possession of paraphernalia. Another person was arrested on a Jennings County warrant.

The operation began March 4 and ended March 27.

Officers are participating in another enforcement period, which began Thursday. This enforcement period has a primary focus of seat belt compliance.
