Schneck nurses complete certification

Schneck Medical Center Home Services nurses Bridget Cope, Deena Harriman and Karen Sutton recently completed the examination for the certificate for Outcome and Assessment Information Set Specialist-Clinical.

To achieve the designation, sponsored by OASIS Answers Inc., an individual must successfully complete a 100-item, 2½-hour exam, according to a news release.

Since its inception in 2004, more than 13,000 candidates have taken the exam to determine their OASIS competency. This exam is the only nationally standardized, psychometrically validated test that evaluates a clinician’s knowledge of OASIS guidelines.

OASIS is a quality measure used in home health agencies across the country to enhance care for patients in the home.

OASIS Answers is dedicated to promoting greater reliability in OASIS data through consistent application of guidelines provided by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

OASIS Answers assists with this goal by offering a voluntary certificate examination, which home care providers may take to demonstrate and establish their expertise and commitment to OASIS data accuracy.

Schneck Medical Center Home Services offers professional health care services in the home, including registered nurses and licensed practical nurses, home health aides, rehabilitation therapy and hospice.
