Armed robbery at Walgreens

Two young males are being sought by police as suspects after an attempted armed robbery at Walgreens in Seymour on Sunday morning.

Seymour police responded to the call from a Walgreens employee at 11:23 a.m. and searched the area north of the store looking for the two men, who fled on foot.

The men later reportedly got into a silver Cadillac, driven by a woman, that had been parked nearby, police said.

According to police reports, one of the males displayed a handgun to an employee in the store at 319 E. Tipton St.

No one was injured in the incident, and the suspects did not get away with any money, Det. Corporal Brian Moore said.

Police described the suspects as young, black males, between the ages of 16 and 25, both wearing dark-colored hoodies. The driver was described as a black female.

The same two suspects may also have been in the CVS Pharmacy nearby, but no incident was reported at that store, police said.

“There’s a lot of speculation right now, and we are in the process of going through surveillance video to match things up,” Moore said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Seymour Police Department at 812-522-1234.
