Masonic Lodge planning Election Day fish fry

Members of Washington Masonic Lodge 13 in Brownstown will conduct the lodge’s primary election day fish fry from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or until the fish runs out May 3 in front of the lodge hall at 134 S. Main St.

The $6 meal consists of a fish sandwich breaded with Brownstown’s own Marion-Kay fish breading, chips and choice of drink that is served eat-in or carryout.

Proceeds from this event go to the Robert Coffman Masonic Scholarship Fund that helps the children and grandchildren of lodge members with the cost of higher education. Seven scholarships were awarded in 2014-15 from the fund.

The lodge is part of the Indiana Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons, which was organized Jan. 13, 1818, in Madison. Washington Lodge was granted its dispensation in 1819, and its charter was granted at the annual meeting in September 1820.

Information on membership to Washington Lodge and the Indiana Grand Lodge is available from any member and will be available during the fish fry.
