Alice Mae “Pinky” Williams, 83, of Seymour passed away Monday, April 18, 2016, at Schneck Medical Center, with her family by her side.

Born Dec. 8, 1932, in Cincinnati, she was the daughter of Harry Allison and Eva L. Taylor Rodman, both of whom preceded her in death. She married John Allen Williams on Aug. 15, 1954, in Seymour, and they were married for 57 years, until his death on May 12, 2012.

Pinky was a member of Central Christian Church. She graduated from Hanover College with a teaching degree and later received a master’s degree from IU. She worked as a health, biology and physical education teacher until her retirement in 1994. She was a member of Tri Kappa, Retired Teachers Association and participated in Meals on Wheels. She loved spending time with and caring for her family. She always put them first in her life.

Survivors include her children, Thomas R. Williams, Susan A. (John) Ponder, Jane E. (Roger) Waggoner and Joseph A. Williams; five grandchildren, Jessica (Geoffrey) Ponder Talbert, Jill (Forrest) Willey, Erin Waggoner, Daniel Waggoner and Carley Williams; and three great-grandchildren, Dylan and Sophia Talbert and Eva Lillian Willey.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Voss Chapel. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.

Friends and family may gather from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Thursday.
