A knight to remember

The first Mother and Son Date Knight will go from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Boys and Girls Club of Seymour, 950 N. O’Brien St.

Cost is $10 per person in advance, $15 per person at the door and free for children 2 and under. They may be purchased ahead of time from Heather Chase, Kendra Zumhingst, Amy Peters, Tiffani Calhoun, Chelsea Burrell or Jordan Sawyer.

The “knight in shining armor” themed event is open to mothers and sons of all ages and will include music by disc jockey Josh Clark with Music in Motion, games, dancing and snacks.

Organizers also are looking for people to donate door prizes.

Proceeds will benefit the Fraternal Order of Police Donald M. Winn Lodge 108’s Cops and Kids program. That program, formerly known as Shop with a Cop, pairs children with local police officers on a shopping trip to Walmart in early December.
