Carl Tipton Harris, 82, of Lebanon, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born May 13, 1933, in Indianapolis, he was the son of Thomas Bedford Harris and Edith Whittaker Harris, both of whom preceded him in death. In 1971, he married Marie Climer Harris, who survives in Lebanon.
Carl worked as an auto body shop technician for Glen Earl and several other auto body shops in Indianapolis before retiring in 1996. He then worked for John Lasley Lawn Care and Lebanon Community School Corp.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather. He enjoyed playing music with his family and friends, working puzzles, watching NASCAR and restoring old cars.
Besides his wife, survivors include his children, Carla Harris of Brownstown, Tonya Korman of Lebanon, Scott (Lisa) Climer of Jamestown and Richard (Kim) Skaggs of Kurtz; grandchildren, Keith (Jill) Warnock, Carl (Sheonia) Warnock, Peter Korman, Nicholas Korman, Tyler Hornay, Tim (Heather) Harris, Wesley (Heather) Harris, Dustin (Courtney) Saude, Jamie (Jennifer) Harris, Ricky Skaggs, Bobby (Shannon) Skaggs, Jason (Julie) Skaggs, Elizabeth Ellis, Barbara (Brandon) Hubbard, Sydney Climer, Lydia Climer, Amanda Harris and Rachel (Elijah) Whipker; 30 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Robert Dean Harris and Timothy Harris; sisters, Rosie Lowe and Margaret Woolbright; and brothers, Alonzo Harris, Andrew Harris, Bobby Harris and Roy Lee Whittaker.
A celebration of Carl’s life will be conducted at a later date.
Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory are handling arrangements.
