Members of Immanuel Lutheran Guild conducted a regular meeting April 5 in the fellowship hall at the Seymour church.

President Jackie Hill opened the meeting.

Pastor Ralph Blomenberg spoke about Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Scottsburg, which Immanuel has been instrumental in establishing. He talked about the need for the Lutheran church since Bethel in Austin had closed. Services are currently conducted at 6 p.m. Sundays at Holy Cross, and the first worship service was in August 2014. Several local pastors share the responsibility of leading worship.

The tables were decorated with blue and yellow crepe paper and clay pots with pansies.

Barb Otte reported on the May party. It’s set for 6:30 p.m. May 3 and will be a salad pitch-in.

Linda Eggersman had closing devotions of “Spring Cleanup,” which talked people cleaning up their spiritual house.

A lemon dessert was served. Janet Cooper won the door prize, a potted plant.

Hostesses for the evening were chairwoman Adrene Wunder, Betty Chastain and Jan Blomenberg.
