March for Babies set at high school

0

The annual Seymour March for Babies will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Seymour High School, 1350 W. Second St.

The 3.1-mile March for Babies is the fundraiser that supports the March of Dimes mission to improve the health of babies. This past November, the March of Dimes’ Report Card on Premature Birth gave the nation a C and Indiana a B.

Registration for the free event that will include food, music, games and prizes will begin at 9 a.m. that day.

Premature birth is the No. 1 killer of babies and costs employers $12 billion annually, according to a news release from the March of Dimes. Money raised to support the March of Dimes supports programs and research that help prevent birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.
