Carrol P. Walters, 73, of French Lick, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at Kindred Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

Born Nov. 25, 1942, in Elon in Orange County, he was the son of Porter Elwood and Alma Jane Young Walters. In May 1984, he married Judy Vance, who survives in French Lick.

Carrol was a member of the French Lick-West Baden Lions Club, Cane Creek Christian Church, Newton Stewart Masonic Lodge 432 Free and Accepted Masons and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 655 in Seymour. He graduated from Springs Valley High School with the Class of 1961. He retired from Texas Eastern Transmission Pipeline after working there for more than 30 years. In his spare time and after retirement, he enjoyed farming.

Besides his wife, survivors include a daughter, Lisa Dixon of Seymour; three stepsons, Richard L. Clark of Salem, Ronald L. Clark of Oakland City and John T. (Donna) Clark of Versailles; three brothers, Harold L. “Jiggs” (Mary Lou) Walters of French Lick, Wayne J. (Dorothy) Walters of Paoli and Norman R. Walters of Crown Point; a sister, Mary O. (Theodore) Kearby of French Lick; two grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and 12 stepgreat-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence Walters and Glen Walters; and four sisters, Joan Cook, Anna M. Gruden, Betty Lou Walters and Jane Walters.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Brosmer-Kemple Chapel in French Lick with the Rev. Rick Engelhardt officiating. Interment will follow at Cane Creek Cemetery in French Lick.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Monday.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Cane Creek Christian Church or the cemetery fund, 4932 S. County Road 1175W, French Lick, IN 47432.
