John Emery “Johnny” Rose, 61, of Medora passed away at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at Jennings Health Care Center. He had been ill for five years.

Born Feb. 17, 1955, in Seymour, he was the son of James Rose and Claris McKinney Rose, both of whom preceded him in death.

John was a lifelong resident of Jackson County. He worked in construction and was a member of ABATE. He loved to ride motorcycles, make grapevine wreaths and enjoyed wood burning and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include a daughter Tess (Chris) Gobin of Medora; two sons, Travis Rose of Medora and Josef (Rose) Rogers of Medora; five grandchildren, Kennedie Miller, Gunner Miller, Mackenzie Rose, Leighton Rose and Landon Rose; and a great-grandchild, Parker Allman.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Rose; and a sister, Connie Featherby.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Johnson Funeral Home in Vallonia.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from noon until time of service Saturday.

Burial will be at White River Valley Cemetery in Medora.
