NORTH VERNON

Roy A. Young Sr., 81, of North Vernon died at 2:20 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus.

Survivors include his wife, Minnie Young of North Vernon; sons, Troy (Jody) Young of Fayette City, Pennsylvania, Roy Young Jr. of North Vernon and Mark Shockley of Hope; daughters, Carol Caruso of Hanover, Teresa (David) Shirley of Evansville and Shirley (Raymond) Brisker of Wilton, Iowa; brothers, Albert (Marie) Young of Phoenix, Arizona, and Art Young of Ohio; sisters, Hazel Cordle of Cleveland, Ohio, Ruth Haines of Indianapolis and Carol Ann Slone and Donna Jean (Web) Conley, both of Portsmouth, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Roberta Young.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. today at Dove-Sharp and Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon with the Rev. Tony Garris officiating.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service today.

A funeral service also will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford, Ohio.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday.

Burial will be at Memorial Burial Park Cemetery in Wheelersburg, Ohio.
