Eloise Mildred Mock, 92, of Medora, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2016, at Lutheran Community Home in Seymour with her family by her side.

Born Jan. 27, 1924, in Sparksville, she was the daughter of Elmer and Flora Heller Burge, both of whom preceded her in death. On June 22, 1946, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Medora, she married Russell W. Mock, who preceded her in death March 12, 2001.

Eloise was valedictorian of the 1941 graduating class of Medora High School and worked for several years at Medora Plastics doing office work. She liked sewing, woodworking and doing home improvement projects. She loved to dance, and she and her husband’s favorite song to dance to was “Elvira” by The Oak Ridge Boys.

She was very active with Jackson County Farm Bureau, where she served as the women’s leader and on the board of directors for many years. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her children, Charles K. (Magdalena) Mock, Anne (John) Duell and Nancy (Robert) Martinez; grandchildren, William (Kristen) Mock, Michaela (Frank) Ragle, Travis (Leslie) Hall and Shadd Hargett,; great-grandchildren, Heidi Ernest, Michael Ayers, Saffyre Edwards, Luke Hall, Stella Hall, Fiona Hall, Jacob Johnson and Clayton Johnson; a great-great-grandchild, Gracie McPike; sister, Oguerita McKinney; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with the Rev. Jack Belk officiating. Burial will follow at Weddleville Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Hague Funeral Home in Medora and from 10 a.m. until time of service Monday at the church.

Memorial checks may be made to the Weddleville Lutheran Cemetery Fund or donor’s charity of choice.
