Jewel J. Nale, 83, of Salem passed away Sunday, April 24, 2016, at Covered Bridge Health Center in Seymour.
Born Dec. 29, 1932, in Washington County, she was the daughter of Jesse and Addie Marshall Purlee, both of whom preceded her in death. She was married to Herbert Nale, who preceded her in death.
Jewel was a retired cook for Salem Middle School and member of Canton Christian Church.
Survivors include two sons, Jeff Nale of Salem and Phil (Sonya) Nale of Brownstown; two brothers, Bruce Purlee and Gary Purlee, both of Sellersburg; sister, Wanda Kay of Sun City, Arizona; three grandchildren, Britney Nale (Jaden) Stone, Taylor Nale and Cassie Nale; and two great-grandchildren, Bristin Stone and Keistin Stone.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard, Laurel and Ronnie Purlee.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service Friday.
