Officers for the 2016-17 sorority year were elected when Phi Beta Psi, Theta Omega Chapter met April 18 at the American Legion Annex in Seymour.

Newly elected officers are president, Jackie Hill; first vice president, Melissa Krawchison; second vice president, Kalee Alberring; treasurer, Janet Cooper; corresponding secretary, Kristy Gabbard; reporter, Doris Baurle; and conductress, Beckie Anderson.

President Joan Trimpe presided and was assisted by Anderson, Angie Reynolds, Krawchison, Alberring, Mary Reynolds and Cooper.

The members arranged the tables for Basket Bingo to be conducted the following night, and work committees were mentioned.

The sorority’s food tent menu for the Hen and Chicks Barn Market was discussed, and workers’ names were read. That event is Friday and Saturday.

The national convention will be July 10 through 13 at the Cleveland Airport Marriott. The Indiana convention will be Oct. 21 through 23 at the Lexington Airport Hotel in Indianapolis, hosted by the Pittsboro chapter. Delegates for the conventions will be named later.

Krawchison won the THETO prize.

The sorority also recently conducted its April social at Mi Casa Restaurante in Seymour for dinner and to meet prospective members.

Introductions were made, and there were announcements about upcoming projects this month.

Guests were Angela Coomler, Desiree Costilla, Bonnie Lane, Tracey Phillips and Amanda Reichenbacker.

Hostesses Rachel Rust and Kathleen Johnson presented lucky lady gifts to Jan Robinson, Baurle, Reynolds, Anderson, Cooper, Phillips, Gabbard and Cori Vaughn.

The next meeting will be initiation of new members in May.
