University of Indianapolis sophomore Paxton DeHaven, a Seymour graduate, carded a 3-day total of 225 to earn Great Lakes Valley Conference all-conference honors this past weekend in Waterloo, Illinois.

The Greyhounds team won the 54-hole event at Annbriar Golf Course with a wire-to-wire victory. It’s the school’s fifth GLVC title in a row.

Now a two-time all-conference honoree, DeHaven racked up 17 pars Sunday, with a double-bogey on 16 as her only third-round blemish.

Carding team scores of 302, 303 and 294, the Greyhounds bested the 14-team field by 21 stokes. All five of the Greyhounds shot 75 or better in Sunday’s final round, helping the Hounds set a new record for lowest team score at the GLVC meet.

The Greyhounds’ win added a 10th GLVC Championship to their trophy case. No other school has more than three GLVC titles.

The victory also secured the GLVC’s automatic bid in the 36-team field at the upcoming NCAA Division II Championships.

The championships start with regional play at Panther Creek Golf Club in Springfield, Illinois, on May 2 to 4.
