Charlotte Ann Gabbard, 77, of Port Orange, Florida, passed away at 10:22 a.m. Friday, April 22, 2016, at University of Florida Health Shands Hospital in Jacksonville.

Born May 13, 1938, in Bloomfield, she was the daughter of Roy and Lucy DeFrees Abrams, both of whom preceded her in death.

Charlotte was a retired real estate agent in Jackson County and was a member of Beville Road Church of Christ in Daytona Beach, Florida. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens and playing golf with friends. The loves of her life were her work, church and family.

Survivors include her children, Charlotte Darlene (Mikel) Smith of Vincennes, Kenneth (Kathy) Holtsclaw of Bloomfield, Lisa (Doug) Wingfield of Danisville, West Virginia, Kenneth Gabbard of Kalamazoo, Michigan, and Elizabeth Colburn of Indianapolis; siblings, Beverly Kennedy and Linda Meadows, both of Bedford, and Mike Abrams and Jim Abrams, both of Bloomfield;12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Max Pirtle in 1975, and James Gabbard in 2009; and a sister, Mary Sparks.

The funeral service will be at noon Saturday at Jenkins Funeral Home, Bloomfield, with Michael Abrams officiating. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
