Sylvia D. Burnette Woodard, 70, of Seymour, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at her home.

Born May 16, 1945, in Alva, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Lemuel Burnette and Lillian Siler Broyles, both of whom preceded her in death. On Aug. 4, 2006, in Seymour, she married Robert “Bob” Woodard who survives.

Sylvia worked as a lab technician at Scott County Hospital for many years then at Pollards and Associates in Louisville. She sold cars at Arbuckles and Storey Ford. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, the American Legion, Veterans for Foreign Wars Post 1925 and the Moose Lodge, all of Seymour. She loved music, dancing and animals.

Survivors include her son, Bob Bryant; three brothers, Sam (Donna) Burnette, Larry (Phyllis) Burnette and Dan (Amy) Burnette; step-children, Ed (Jill) Woodard and Debra (Donnie) Wetzel; three step-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins; and Lois Engelking, a very good friend.

She was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Lee Bryant II; and her stepfather, Glenn Broyles.

A private graveside service will be conducted by Voss & Sons Funeral Service at Riverview Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice of charity.
