GIRLS TENNIS

Seymour defeats Madison on home courts

Winning four matches in straight sets, Seymour defeated Madison 4-1 Thursday night at home.

Hallie Crenshaw at No. 1 singles won 6-1, 6-0, and Emma Wood and Lindsey Hume at No. 1 doubles won 6-0, 6-1. Addie Rudge and Katie O’Mara didn’t give up a game at No. 2 doubles, while Megan Baurle battled to a 7-5 win in the first set at No. 2 singles before winning 6-0.

The last match on the court was No. 3 singles, where Seymour’s Lou-Anne Hoarau lost the first set 6-4 before winning 6-4 and then losing 6-3 against Maddie Robinson. That match lasted two hours and 20 minutes.

Seymour now has a 6-2 record.

SOFTBALL

Owls remain perfect with road win

HANOVER

Seymour pulled off a 10-7 win against Southwestern (Hanover) on the road Thursday night to remain perfect on the season at 9-0.

The Owls broke a 3-3 score with five runs in the top of the fourth. They then added two in the top of the sixth before the host Rebels scored four times in the bottom half.

BASEBALL

Owls’ game canceled

Seymour’s varsity game at Shawe Memorial was postponed Thursday night.
