The Brownstown Public Library Adult Book Club will discuss “Cries in the Night” by Lori Roberts at 11 a.m June 11 at the library at 120 E. Spring St.
The book involves a couple from Denver, Colorado, who move to the low country of Charleston, South Carolina, and purchase a diamond-in-the-rough home on historic King Street. The couple, however, soon find out the house is haunted by the spirits of not the just home’s original owners, who were murdered in the parlor, but the ghosts of a surly dockworker and an orphan.
The author, who is a teacher at Shawswick Middle School in eastern Lawrence County, plans to attend this meeting.
Karen Raymer will lead the discussion.
Those planning to attend are urged to read the book. Copies are available at the circulation desk.
