Cathy Pollert Klaes, 55, of Seymour, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2016, at Schneck Medical Center with her family by her side.

She was the daughter of Clarence F. and Janice Pollert, who both preceded her in death; and Karen Pollert, who survives her.

Cathy was a senior account representative for The Republic newspaper in Columbus since April of 1986.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, Tri Kappa, Leadership Jackson County and volunteered with the Distinguished Young Women Program in Seymour. She was a graduate of Seymour High School and Indiana University. Cathy was known for her positive outlook on life, generosity and always leaving a lasting impression on those around her. She loved spending time with her family and was recently enjoying helping plan Mia’s upcoming wedding. She was a proud CiCi to her new grandson Conrad.

Besides her mom, Karen, survivors include daughters, Mackenzie (Nick) Eddy and Mia (Jacob McCall) Klaes; a grandson, Conrad Nicholaus Eddy, whom she adored; a brother, Matthew L. Pollert; two sisters, Lori (Tim) Pollert-Brady and Paige M. (Jim) Hoffman; several nieces and nephews; and her lifelong friend, Priscilla Wischmeier.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Rev. Ralph Blomenberg officiating. Burial will be at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sauers Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Voss Chapel with a celebration service of fond remembrances beginning at 7 p.m. Friends and family will be encouraged to share their favorite memories of Cathy at this time.

Memorial checks may be written to the C.B. Hess Memorial 4-H Scholarship Fund or the Julie A. Moore G.I. Cancer Research Fund.
