Dennis Wayne Oathout, 69, of Pace, Florida, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2016.

Dennis was a loving husband, father, brother and patriot with an artistic soul. He served in the U.S. Army from 1971 to 1974 as a Green Beret. He was a man of great faith and was a member of St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church. He was a former member of United Brotherhood of Carpenters union. He was recognized as a notable in Rhododendron, Oregon. He retired from a career in construction as a skilled laborer and superintendent to become a gentleman farmer.

Survivors include his loving wife, Sue Carol Oathout; sons, Chad Wayne (Jill) Oathout, Andy Wayne (Wendy) Oathout and Coby Wayne (Molly) Oathout; sister, Virginia Lee (Fred) Allman; grandchildren, Tasha, Dayna, Caitlin, Jack, Hannah, Elayna and Jesse; and a great-grandchild, Kris.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Hamilton and Clara Oathout, and his brother, Stephen Tony Oathout.

A mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church with Father George officiating. Interment will take place at 10 a.m. June 14 at  Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Indiantown Gap, Pennsylvania.

Faith Chapel Funeral Home North, 1000 S. Highway 29, Cantonment, Florida, handled the arrangements.
