Carol White gave a lesson on container gardening when Pine Ridge Extension Homemakers met May 24 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Seymour.

President Sandi Hall presided at the business meeting during which reports were given by those who had attended the county Achievement Night program May 12.

Norma Pollert gave the citizenship lesson on famous Hoosier comedian Red Skelton, who grew up in Vincennes.

Aryss Beebe led in singing “This Land Is My Land.” Mary Ann Seaney read devotions titled “God’s Word.”

Hall served strawberry shortcake with berries fresh from her garden. Favors were colorful fly swatters. The hostess gift went to Carol Wait.

The next meeting will be at 1:30 p.m. June 28 at White’s home. Members are to take birthday gifts for secret pals. Club dues of $3 will be collected, and officers for the next year will be installed.
