LOUISVILLE, Ky.

Thelma Lee Williams Cheatham, 87, of Louisville, Kentucky, formerly of Seymour, passed away Monday, June 13, 2016, at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville.

Born June 26, 1928, in Seymour, she was the daughter of Glenn and Dorothy Bolton Williams, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Charles Kenneth Cheatham, who also preceded her in death.

Thelma was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Louisville. She worked in customer service at Nu Yale Cleaners for many years. She was a charter member of Fraternal Order of Eagles and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Ladies Auxiliaries all of Seymour. She enjoyed playing cards, listening to music and going to concerts.

Survivors include her sons, Richard L. (Katherine) Hunt and James H. Whitson Jr.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, Glenn Williams.

Beside her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Donald Williams and Charles Williams; and a sister, Mary Williams.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. today at Voss Chapel, Seymour, with the Rev. Ralph Blomenberg officiating. Burial will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon until time of service.

A celebration of life service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Concordia Lutheran Church in Louisville, Kentucky.
