Cynthia Ann Ulshafer, 54, a resident of Seymour, formerly of South Whitley, died unexpectedly at 3:36 p.m. Sunday, June 12, 2016, at Schneck Medical Center.

Born July 16, 1961, in Stockton, California, she was the daughter of Jack D. Ulshafer of South Whitley and Kathleen Paseka Ulshafer, who preceded her in death.

She spent her formative years in New Haven. The family then moved to South Whitley, where she completed middle school and graduated from Whitko High School in 1979.

Cynthia was currently employed by Aisin USA in Seymour in the quality department since 2003. Previously she had worked for Dwyer Instruments Inc. in South Whitley for 10 years.

She cherished her time with her daughters and grandkids. She also enjoyed bingo, fishing, mushroom hunting and trips anywhere that involved shopping.

Other survivors include her daughters, Janelle A. (Nathan) Rhoades, Pierceton, Laura L. (Eric) English, Springfield, Illinois, and KayLynn Keirn, Louisville, Kentucky; grandchildren, James and Timothy Herr and Lucas Rhoades; a sister, Teresa (Rick) Cokl, South Whitley; nephews, Riley and Garrett Cokl, South Whitley, and Gavin, Devin and Grayson Ulshafer and their mother, Amanda Sroufe, North Manchester.

Besides her mother, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jeff Ulshafer; and a sister, Melissa “Missy” Ulshafer.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Smith and Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley. Burial will be in South Whitley Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. until time of service.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
