Floyd L. Koop, 62, of Seymour passed away Sunday, June 19, 2016, at home.

Born Jan. 19, 1954, in Seymour, he was the son of Harold and Erma Zaenglein Koop.

Floyd was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He retired in October of 2015 from Polley’s Building Supply as a concrete truck driver after 26 years. Prior to that, he worked as a custodian at Immanuel Lutheran Church. He also loved to farm in his spare time.

Floyd was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 655 and American Legion Post 89. He enjoyed rabbit hunting, playing euchre with family and friends, gardening, bowling and playing horseshoes. He was horseshoe champion in Seymour one year. His biggest joy in life was planning gatherings for family where he would cook and play with his grandkids.

Survivors include his daughters, Heather DeHart of Seymour, Stephanie (Akeem) Gbadamosi of Louisville, Melissa Hercamp of Greenwood and Jennifer (Michael) Prior of Peru; his siblings, Susan Humphrey of Indianapolis, Loretta McKee of Seymour, Martin (Cindy) Koop of Crothersville and Leonard (Mary) Koop of Seymour; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre with the Rev. Ralph Blomenberg officiating. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
