Rexford G. Sturgill, 75, of North Fort Myers, Florida, died June 13, 2016, at his residence.

Born July 18, 1940, in Whitesburg, Kentucky, he was the son of Shelby and Lois Hart Enlow, both of whom preceded him in death.

Rexford was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving as a military policeman. As a civilian, Rexford worked as a contractor for Haiderer Homes in Columbus. He retired in 2008, relocating to North Fort Myers. He was a member of the Pentecostal faith. He was also an allegiant member of the AMVETS Post 81 in North Fort Myers and American Legion Post 89 of Seymour.

Survivors include his children, Glenn (Sharon) Sturgill, Orlando Florida, David (Kim) Sturgill and Brian (Nicole) Sturgill, all of Seymour, and Glenna (Joey) Bates Hamilton of Naples, Florida; siblings, Charity (Jerry) Hall of Columbus and Ramona (Bob) Caudill of Whitesburg, Kentucky; and grandchildren, Jessica Sturgill, Andrea Sturgill-Yoeder, Bryan Sturgill, Alexander Sturgill, Zachary Sturgill, Jimmy Wheeler and Logan Hamilton.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Sturgill, and a sister, Dana Reeves.

Rexford had bequeathed his body to the University of Florida College of Medicine.

The Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
