The Jackson County Public Library board of trustees received a report from head of information services Becky Brewer during the board’s monthly meeting Monday at the Seymour Library.

Brewer discussed changes in the work of the information services department, including discontinuing online databases due to low interest or non-use. Public databases that were renewed in June include Pronunciator (foreign language learning) and Chilton’s Online (auto repair). The library also renewed a movie license for the Seymour Library.

The board reviewed the information services policy and interlibrary loan borrowing policy and approved a small change to the interlibrary loan lending policy.

They approved resolutions to establish internal controls and a policy on materiality and process for reporting material items. Per the State Board of Accounts, internal controls must be documented with staff trained in procedures by Dec. 31.

The board also approved personnel changes and after-hours Seymour Library parking lot use Aug. 26 by the Fraternal Order of Police and Seymour Area Cruisers during their Pre-Scoop Cruise-In and Car Show.

The board’s next meeting is at 5 p.m. July 18 at the Seymour Library.
