Raymond D. Marsh, 100, of Seymour passed away at 4:40 a.m. Friday, June 24, 2016, at Schneck Medical Center.

Born April 12, 1916, in Jackson County, he was the son of Howard and Jennie Clark Marsh, both of whom preceded him in death. He married Mary Marsh, who preceded him in death in 1940. He then married Edna Clouse on Jan. 10, 1942, in Jackson County. They were married for more than 60 years until she passed away Aug. 28, 2015.

Raymond was a member of Reddington Christian Church. He served in Panama with the U.S. Army in 1945. He worked as a supervisor at U.S. Shoe Co. until he retired after 47 years. He enjoyed camping and fishing when he wasn’t farming. He was a trustee of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Survivors include his sons, Raymond Tom (Kathy) Marsh, Monty (Pam) Marsh, Rick Marsh and Dick Marsh; four grandchildren, Shannon (Joel) Snyder, Sabrina (Dale) McKillip, Samantha Eline and Dustin Marsh; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents and  first and second wives, he was preceded in death by a son, Howard Max Marsh; an infant grandson, Justin Jay Marsh; a grandson, Arthur “Artie” Marsh; brothers, Charles Lester, Homer Albert, Jasper William, James Irwin, Lawrence E. and Paul Andrew Marsh; and sisters, Laura Marsh and Elizabeth Ruddick.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Voss Chapel with the Rev. Scott Brown officiating. Burial will be at Reddington Cemetery with full military graveside rites conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled Veterans 47 and Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Tuesday.
