All Seasons Garden Club met June 6 at the home of Julie Nay.

Nay and cohostess Jeanette Chastain served summer salads, chips and angel food cake.

Prior to the business meeting, the club toured Mary Rose Wicker Bassett’s “Garden of Specimens.” Bassett showed the group her ornamental gifts, and a tour of her gardens included ground covers, permanent plants, annuals, shrubs, weeds, trees and compost bins.

The gardens at Lutheran Community Home were discussed during the brief business meeting conducted by Veronica Bowling, president. Members volunteered to oversee the gardens each week during the summer and fall.

Julie Ballard and Susie Schnitker won the door prizes of hydrangea bouquets arranged by Chastain. Favors of banana bread and mini notepads were given to each member.

Bowling announced the July 11 meeting will be at the home of Brenda Turner. Karen Lanam and Joan Thompson are cohostesses.
