Students in Seymour will be able to benefit from a national backpack giveaway July 30.

On that day, TCC and A Wireless are teaming up to donate 235,000 backpacks full of school supplies to children through TCC’s annual School Rocks Backpack Giveaway.

Since 2013, TCC has donated more than 360,000 backpacks filled with supplies to ensure children are well prepared for the start of the school year, according to a news release from the authorized Verizon retailer.

Between noon and 3 p.m. July 30, more than 1,300 participating TCC and A Wireless stores are inviting local families to bring their children to the store to pick up a backpack filled with pencils, paper, a pencil box, folders, glue and more.

The participating TCC store in Seymour is at 1327 E. Tipton St.

Each participating TCC store will donate 250 backpacks, and each A Wireless store will donate 125 backpacks.
