Seymour’s annual Fourth of July celebration has been rescheduled for Saturday.
It will start with Music in the Park from noon to 3 p.m. at Shields Park, featuring Sara Martin, Molly Hayes, Kaylee McDonald and Jess Kelley. Those attending the free event, presented by the Seymour Parks and Recreation Department and This Old Guitar Music Store, may bring lawn chairs, coolers and blankets. The concession stand at Shields Park will be open.
From noon to 5 p.m., admission will be half-price for the afternoon session at Shields Park Pool. Full admission price will be charged for the evening session.
At 10 p.m., the Kremers Urban Pharmaceuticals fireworks display will begin at Freeman Field. The show will be synchronized to music compliments of WJAA Radio 96.3, and the WJAA Cool Bus also will be on location throughout the evening.
Due to a prescheduled tournament, free parking will not be available at Freeman Field. However, free parking will be available at Freeman Industrial Park and Kasting Park.
Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on city property, and private fireworks also are prohibited.
