Fair queen candidates announced

The names of the 17 young Jackson County women who will compete in the Jackson County Fair Queen contest at 8 p.m. July 24 at the grandstand have been announced.

The queen candidates, their parents, hometowns and sponsors are:

•Ciara Fisher, daughter of Jeffrey and Dora Fisher, Norman, Jackson County Extension Homemakers Past Presidents Club.

•Katie Sturgill, daughter of Leonard Sturgill and Rebecca Ford, Seymour, Gamma Phi chapter of Tri Kappa.

•Kaitlin McPike, daughter of Greg and Andrea McPike, Medora, Seymour City Extension Homemakers Club.

•Danielle Shelley, daughter of Kevin and Nancy Shelley, Seymour, Jim Hoffman with Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance.
