Mr. Jackson County contest set

Eleven Jackson County men will compete for the title of Mr. Jackson County on Aug. 6 at the Pines Evergreen Room in Seymour.

The contest is a fundraiser for the Southern Indiana Center for the Arts.

The contestants are John Burkhart, Mike Hall, Dr. David Hartung, Brett Hays, Mayor Craig Luedeman, Dave McNabb, Matt Nicholson, Matt Nieman, Dr. Nate Otte, Aaron Piper and Jordan Richart.

The evening begins at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 6 p.m. and program at 7 p.m. The program will consist of an “Express Yourself” and “Talent” segment.

Each contestant is also creating a piece of artwork which will be auctioned off that evening. The creator of the artwork receiving the highest bid will be deemed “Mr. Picasso.”

The top five money makers will advance to a question and answer round along with “Mr. Picasso.”

Tickets are $40 and are available now at the Southern Indiana Center for the Arts or from any contestant. Tables of eight are available for $275.

The Southern Indiana Center for the Arts is located at 2001 N. Ewing Street, Seymour and has various classes, camps, exhibits and events throughout the year. All proceeds from this event will benefit the Center.
