County board approves 2 requests

Jackson County Board of Zoning Appeals approved two requests during a meeting July 12 in Brownstown.

The first request OK’d by the five-member panel was made by Paul and David Pottschmidt of 1338 W. County Road 400N, Seymour. The Pottschmidts had been seeking a variance from the subdivision control ordinance to split a 209.767 tract in the 2000 block of West U.S. 50, Brownstown, into two parcels with new legal descriptions. The tract, which is in the floodplain of the East Fork White River, is divided by U.S. 50.

The second request approved came from Michael Helwig of 3732 S. State Road 235, Vallonia Helwig had sought a variance from setback requirements of 90 feet from a state road to allow for construction of 24-by-24-foot pole building.
