Youth football league registering players, coaches

Early registration for the Seymour Area Youth Football league is open for incoming third- through sixth-graders.

A mandatory three-day player combine will take place at Bulleit Stadium from Aug. 16 to 18 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Practice will commence the following week before the “Labor Day Jamboree” on Sept. 3.

Games will start the weekend of Sept. 10.

Pre-registration is $100 and late registration (after Day 3 of the combine) is $120.

There is a $10 discount per child for multiple participants from the same household.

Scholarships are available to those who qualify.

The SAYFL also is looking for coaches.

SAYFL players are taught proper fundamentals to prepare them for the next level to reduce injuries.

The league requires all coaches to be USA Football Heads Up Tackling certified.

Forms and files for interested coaches are on the SAYFL’s website.

Once the application is completed, one of the league directors will contact those interested for a brief interview. Also, background checks will be completed.
