Local music acts, food and drinks will highlight the inaugural Second Street Live Block Party coming to downtown Seymour next month.

Presented by a group of downtown merchants, the outdoor event will feature Jordan Richart, Paradigm and These Fine Gentlemen performing from 1 to 6 p.m. Aug. 7.

The family-friendly event will include free school supplies for kids and a chance for adults to win outdoor patio furniture.

Food and beverages from local food trucks and vendors will be available, but attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and coolers.
