Guy “Rocky” Hopper, 82, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2016, with his loving family by his side.
Born March 22, 1934, in Bethlehem and raised in Seymour, he was the son of Wesford A. and Goldie Vest Hopper, both of whom preceded him in death. On Nov. 27, 1953, in Brownstown, he married Mary Lou Fishel Hopper Princeton. She survives.
Guy worked for several companies as a cross-country truck driver before retiring in 2003. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.
Other survivors include a son, Dan (Susan Wright) Hopper of Seatonville; two daughters, Lou Ann (Joe) Birkey of Princeton and Peg Hopper of Malden; three grandchildren, Luci (Kevin) Hilmes of Princeton and Andrew Birkey and Jessica Birkey, both of Princeton; two great-grandchildren, Jeremy Hopper of Malden and Conner Workman of Princeton; two sisters, Dorothy Fleehearty of Seymour, and Janet Sutton of Seymour; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Wes Lee; two brothers, Eugene Hopper and Russell Hopper; and a sister, Bertha Horton.
A celebration of life service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Oakland Cemetery in Princeton with Pastor Brian Gilbert officiating.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Norberg Memorial Home in Princeton.
