Schneck planning grief sharing programs

Three grief sharing programs will begin in August to help people going through the grieving process.

The GriefShare groups will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays for 13 weeks from Aug. 11 to Nov. 3.

Stephen Barrett will lead a program at The Point in Seymour, and Pam and Ron Evans will serve as hosts for a program at Brownstown Christian Church. The third program will be offered at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in North Vernon. Pastor Adrian Krebs will serve as host to that program.

GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences, according to a news release from Schneck Medical Center Hospice.

“In our fast-paced society, I believe it is imperative for us to take time to grieve,” said Stephen Barrett, Schneck Hospice chaplain. “Being with others that have had similar experiences can be extremely healing. This program is designed to be a place of hope and healing for those whose lives have been broken.”

The free program, sponsored by Schneck Hospice, is for adults and children 14 and older. Registration is not required, and people can attend any or all sessions. Childcare is available upon request.
