Charles King, 87 of Brooksville, Florida, formerly of Seymour, passed away July 26, 2016.

Born in New Albany, he was the son of George and Opal King, both of whom preceded him in death. On July 19, 1954, in Bridgeport, Illinois, he married Billie Aldridge King, who survives.

Charles was a Jehovah’s Witness by faith and had retired from Contel Telephone Co. after 30 years of service.

Other survivors include daughters, Pamela (Rick) Grubb of Winter Haven, Florida, Tami (Gary) Peters of Brooksville, Florida, Becky King of Seymour and Charlotte King and Sherri King, both of Brooksville, Florida; three grandchildren, Andrew Davidson and Nathan Napier, both of Salem, and Lauren Brooker of Apple Valley, Minnesota; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Eden Davidson of Salem; siblings, Martha Baldwin of Valley Station, Kentucky, Fred King of Jeffersonville, Kenny King of Scottsburg, Alice King of Sellersburg and Tom King of Brandenburg, Kentucky; and family and friends.

He was preceded in death by a son, Mark King.

Following cremation, graveside services will be at a later time at Crown Hill Cemetery in Salem.
