Southern Indiana Flying Eagles plans to conduct an Academy of Model Aeronautics-sponsored radio-controlled scale model airplane contest from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at Freeman Field in Seymour.

Admission is free both days with plenty of parking.

There will be raffle prizes available for all who purchase tickets. Drawings will be Sunday afternoon, and you do not need to be present to win.

Concessions will be for sale both days, with picnic tables available for seating.

All of the planes entered will be replicas of full-size aircraft. These planes can vary from 60-inch to 170-inch wingspan, with sizes in between. Some will be powered by electric motors and some with large gasoline engines.

Contestants will compete for the right to enter the Masters Championships in October in Davis, California.

The club’s flying field is in the 1200 block of North A Avenue off the Airport Road entrance to Freeman Field.
