Hearts of Home Club July Meeting

Hearts of Home Extension Homemakers Club met for lunch July 21 at Cortland Diner followed by its monthly meeting at the Seymour Library.

Janet Jarvis opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance.

The Jackson County Fair started July 24, and members were reminded to take entries to the fair.

Debbie Shubert gave roll call by asking “What is your favorite thing to do at the fair?”

The treasurer’s report was given by Mary McIntosh.

Jarvis gave the citizenship lesson entitled “The Fourth of July.”

“Remember the reason we celebrate independence” was read by Susan Robbins.

The health and safety lesson was given by Shubert entitled “Take charge of your debt.”

Members went to Schleter’s farm stand and cooled off with ice cream cones at Kovener’s Korner.

The next meeting will be Aug. 11 at Stahl’s Cafe and Deli in Brownstown.
