Braves host three individuals
BROWNSTOWN
The Brownstown Central girls golf team hosted one golfer from Orleans and two representing Mitchell on Monday at Hickory Hills Golf Club.
As a team, the Braves finished the evening with 211 strokes.
KaCee Collins and Shelby Stuckwisch tied for medalist honors by carding 50s.
Stuckwisch finished with two pars and her first-ever birdie on the par-4 hole No. 9.
Next for the Braves was Emma Zabor’s 54 and Breonna Bottorff’s score of 57.
Regan Campbell rounded out the Braves’ lineup with a 70.
Alexis Mitchell (66) and Autumn Greer (76) took the links for Mitchell.
Orleans’ Brooklyn Cromwell, who travels with the Bluejackets’ squad, shot a 54.
Trinity opens season
HENRYVILLE
The Trinity Lutheran girls golf team kicked off their 2016 campaign in a tri-meet with Henryville and Eastern at Champions Pointe Golf Club on Monday.
Henryville bested Trinity in team scoring 216-246 while the Musketeers had just three golfers on the links.
The Hornets’ Kennedy Easton took medalist honors by carding a 46 (+10).
Macy Taylor’s score of 55 led Trinity.
Demi Oakes was next for the Cougars at 59, Morgan Gabbard totaled 63 and Anna Benter shot a 69 in her first varsity contest.
