The 71st annual V-J Day Parade will start at 1 p.m. Sunday.
Leaving from Seymour High School, the parade will travel on Second Street in Seymour, turn left at Walnut Street and go north a few blocks before heading back to the school.
Parade entry sign-in will be from 10 a.m. to noon in the high school parking lot.
The parade, sponsored by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925 in Seymour, typically features local high school bands, military bands, military units, vehicles and more.
The parade is conducted to commemorate the country’s victory against Japan and the end of World War II in 1945 and to honor all veterans.
Dinner will be served at the VFW post, 311 S. Jackson Park Drive, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Alley Katz Band will perform from 4 to 8 p.m.
