Parks and rec softball league sign-ups

The Seymour Parks and Recreation Department will be accepting registrations for the Fall Open Softball League until Aug. 19.

The $200 team sponsor fee and a minimum of 10 $17 player fees are required at time of registration.

League games will be played Monday and Wednesday evenings at Gaiser and Freeman Field Softball Fields.

49th Annual Jackson County Horseshoe Tournament

The 49th Annual Jackson County Horseshoe Tournament will be Sept. 10 at Gaiser Park.

The singles tournament will be a round-robin four-class tournament.

Qualifying times are from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sept. 8 and 9.

The tournament will begin at 9 a.m. with Class D, then Classes C, B and A, in that order.

Each class will begin 30 minutes after the previous class ends.

This pitch is open to all residents of surrounding counties.
