Jackson County History Center plans to celebrate Jackson County Heritage Days from Sept. 9 to 11.

All of the museums, log cabins and the genealogy library at the center at 105 N. Sugar St. in Brownstown will be open.

There will be a dedication ceremony for the cabin that was donated by Brownstown Central Community School Corp. at 1 p.m. Sept. 10. The cabin was moved from Brownstown Elementary School, where it sat for many years, to the center.

The hours of the celebration are from 5 p.m. to dusk Sept. 9, from 8 a.m. to dusk Sept. 10 and from noon to 4 p.m. Sept. 11.

The center will be serving its famous beans and cornbread and pork burgers with secret sauce all three days.

History center officials are looking for food vendors, hand-crafted demonstrators with items for sale and anyone willing to provide music.

The hope is have to scheduled entertainment on the newly constructed stage in the 100 block of East Walnut Street near the center throughout the celebration.
