A Freetown man has been re-elected to the board of directors for United Producers Inc.

As a director, James Lucas will represent the members of District 10 (southern Indiana) for a three-year term. Elected in June during UPI’s district delegate meeting, he will help govern the marketing cooperative.

Along with serving as a delegate for 15 years, Lucas sits on the UPI executive committee, planning, membership and governance committee and the PCC board of directors. He is president of the Jackson County Drainage Board and treasurer of the Lutheran Education Association of Lutheran Central School.

Lucas raises cattle, contract finishes hogs, grows corn, soybeans, wheat, hay and has pasture ground. He and his wife, Julie, have three children.
